Paul Modrowski-Public Statement

I have become aware of online statements describing me as “a murderer” and alleging that I acted deceptively by participating on dating platforms. These characterizations are misleading and omit critical legal and factual context.

Decades ago, I was convicted under a legal theory known as accountability. I was not present at the crime scene. After serving a lengthy sentence, a judge later vacated that sentence and ruled it unconstitutional. He said the sentence "shocked the moral consciousness of the community." He also expressed serious concerns regarding the integrity of my conviction.
During my incarceration, I pursued higher education and earned two bachelor’s degrees. Following my release, I have been employed in academic research, working as a researcher at a top university. These facts are offered only to provide an accurate picture of my life and conduct, not as a substitute for context or conversation.
I do not include this history on dating profiles or in early, introductory conversations because it is complex, deeply personal, and appropriately discussed privately. My intent has never been to mislead, but to allow interpersonal connections to develop before addressing a legal history that cannot be responsibly reduced to a label.
I understand that this information may raise questions. I am willing to address them directly and respectfully in appropriate circumstances.
This statement is provided solely to correct factual inaccuracies and to place relevant context on the public record.
