Hello,
We have a few things to share......
We are working on a brand new website for information about Paul and his case, www.justiceforpaul.org
We've also set up a crowdfunding site to help with Paul's legal expenses. It will be greatly appreciated if you could donate and/or share the link. You can also send money directly to Paul through his JPAY account.
This blog now has a Facebook page.
Thank you so much for your continued support of Paul through this long battle!
-Friends of Paul
Paul Modrowski is a prisoner in Stateville Prison in Crest Hill, Illinois.
Paul was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole at age 18 on an "accountability" theory for supposedly lending his car to a friend who supposedly murdered a man--
although the friend was acquitted by a different jury.
Paul has been in maximum security prison for over 25 years. Paul has autism.
Paul writes this blog himself! Thank you for reading!
You are reading a rare, detailed account of everyday life in Stateville Prison.

To contact Paul, please email: paulmodrowski@gmail.com
or write him at the address shown in the right column. He will get your message personally.

Howdy just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren't loading properly.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I've tried it in two different browsers and both show the same results.
What pictures?

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing
DeletePlease go to Paul's Facebook group page called Justice for Paul Modrowski. Lets all get together and help bring attention to Paul and his injustice so he will be freed.
DeleteExcellent, his entire conviction ordeal reads as a “how not to run a criminal justice system”, I’m Canadian, we rarely lock up the innocent, if we do they are properly compensated, and we never, EVER lock up the retarted!
ReplyDeleteRetarded? Too bad they dont lock up ass hats.
DeleteSeriously.....twinkle twinkle.
DeleteKeep on working, great job!
ReplyDeleteI done heard he is going to get transferred federal to some place called a communications management unit for all the shit he done posted on this blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is false. Even if it were true, why would they transfer him now when he hasn't posted anything in 2 years?
DeleteCan he receive CD'S OR DVD'S?
ReplyDeleteNo, only cassettes from IDOC approved sellers.
DeleteNo I heard the same thing it’s true. Marion is where theys sending him
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing to this alleged rumor.
DeleteMarion is a federal prison. Paul is in a state prison. Troll.
DeleteYa’ll can believe whatever you want but they is shipping him out to a CMU. They going to tone him out is what they call it. My brother works at Marion and he seen the transfer paperwork that’s pending.
ReplyDeleteImpossible. Paul was not convicted of a federal crime. So he can't go to a federal prison. Troll.
DeleteWhile I dont believe the rumors, to be fair, state can transfer a prisoner to federal for various reasons. People have been transferred between different states prisons if theres a justification. Its not common but its not impossible either
DeleteDrew Petersen got transferred out of state. Maybe because he's a high profile criminal.
DeleteDrew Peterson was sent to federal prison because he kept trying to have people killed.
DeleteI think people who are thinking Paul is being transferred are looking at someone else...it seems they moved one of the murderers of the Brown Chicken restaurant massacre, hopefully people are not still getting Paul confused with them....
DeleteIt’s not a rumor. They are transferring him to Marion CMU. Someone might might want to give him a heads up so he can at least be somewhat mentally prepared. Better that than they just show up at his cell with a “let’s go” order. Apparently he has really gotten under the skin of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Poor Paul...
ReplyDeleteThere is still nothing to this rumor. He's still at Stateville.
DeleteAt least it’ll be quieter for him at Marion with his autism disorder. Plus cleaner and safer and better food. And better heating and cooling. And no cellmate!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think after Stateville that Marion CMU will be like a blessed vacation for Paul. Treatment of prisoners is SO much better in federal custody plus safety and security is way better. I think CMU + Paul’s autism = 🙏🙏🙏
ReplyDeleteThe accommodations may be nicer but he'd be far away from family and friends.
DeleteI read where the Marion CMU has its own basketball court too. Does Paul play basketball? If not I wonder if he’d like to. I’ll bet he’d be pretty good at it! He’s a big athlete in prison there at Stateville.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't play basketball but he does a lot of other working out.
DeleteMarion also has an inmate bowling alley plus an indoor hockey court. I wonder if Paul might be interested in trying that out? Blowing wouldn’t be too hard on his back.
ReplyDeleteBowling balls could be used as weapons though.
DeleteFor everyone who supports Paul, please comment on his Facebook page for support. Also, any posts like the post above can be monitored before it is allowed to be posted.....
ReplyDeletePlease do
DeleteMarion also has LOTS better food. Plus, if an inmate is having muscoskeletal issues they can qualify for long term medical massage therapy as needed for pain relief. I think Paul with his messed up back could probably qualify.
ReplyDeletePlease post Paul’s new mailing address here when he is transferred to his new prison so we can correspond w him and also send him money on J Pal.
ReplyDeleteIf Paul is transferred which is unlikely we will.
DeleteHis JPay would be the same link though
How about some more god damned updates.
ReplyDeleteWhen we have them, you will get them
DeleteI’ll bet Paul is getting tired locked up in Stateville. That place has to wear you down and wear you out. Each decade behind bars has to be like having another heavy anvil placed on your soul.
ReplyDeleteOMG it has too. 😢 he’s already been locked up for like as long as he was alive on the outside plus 7 years or something. Like 25 years I think. In a little cage! How horrible is that. And he could be in there for many more decades. We’ve got to get him out!
ReplyDeleteI wrote President Trump a 27 page letter two months ago asking him to pardon Paul. I got a letter back saying the White House appreciated my correspondence and that they were going to review it!
ReplyDeleteThat's very kind of you but as far as I know the White House cannot do anything about Paul as he wasn't wasn't convicted of a federal crime.
DeleteWriting to Governor Bruce Rauner is the better as he can pardon Paul.
I cc’d him on the letter too! They said they appreciated it also!
Delete27 pages? You have got to realize they don't read it!
DeleteSend that letter to some news outlets instead. A shorter letter.
There is no website. It’s just a blank page.
ReplyDeleteIt's not finished yet

ReplyDeleteI’ve really enjoyed reading about what it’s like to live in that Stateville rat cage for humans where Paul has been trapped for decades and where he will likely die one day if we don’t get him out.
ReplyDeleteUsually compensated in Funds, PayPal or even bank check.
ReplyDeleteYou should be eligible to transfer to a step-down facility.
ReplyDeleteHe's not.
DeleteThen he needs to make a ruckus. I can name some lifers who are at medium facilities.
DeleteWhat sport clubs does Paul support?
ReplyDeletePaul ought to provide us with a blog update just once every ... three months. How about it Paul? Please?
ReplyDeleteIt will be coming on the new website.
DeletePaul how do you stand it in there?! I would go freaking nuts. I think I would be one of those “tier jumpers” I’ve read about that throw themselves off one of the high balconies.
ReplyDeleteIt must be hell on earth to be buried alive in that place.
ReplyDeleteI’m new to reading his blog and prison sounds horrible beyond belief.
ReplyDeletethe funding site isnt workin
ReplyDeleteIts been three months, any timeline on the website yet?
ReplyDeleteIt works now!
DeleteI want Rauner to win re-election but if he loses he will be in a better position to make pardons as he exits the governors office.
ReplyDeleteHello Paul from Minnesota. I’m wondering when the last time was that you had a nice, long, uninterrupted steaming hot shower? 25+ years ago?

ReplyDeleteHey there! This is my first visit to your blog!
ReplyDeleteWe are a collection of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche.
Your blog provided us beneficial information to work on. You have done a outstanding job!
I was suggested this web site by my cousin. I'm
ReplyDeletenot sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know
such detailed about my trouble. You are wonderful!
Thanks!
I've read your blog. Paul, you are probably one of the smartest people in the IDOC. If not the smartest! But you are also a smart ass and you seem to look down on....well look down on anyone who isn't YOU.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed with your endurance and your accomplishments and I am aware that you do not give a flip whether or not anyone LIKES YOU. But I think your "I am so intelligent" tone really turns a lot of people off and detracts from your cause. I know you are autistic and probably don't show much emotion. And you have a right to be angry because frankly your situation sucks. But can you please try to do random acts of kindness daily....when you take breaks from writing your new appeal....because I am sure you do not sit and write appeal for 16 hours a day? I don't mean you should turn into a happy-go-lucky, but try to have respect for others because they are human beings. Even though some of your neighbors are the lowest of the low. I wish you peace and success.
I noticed that your friend Steven Zirko is now in Pontiac. Sorry your friend was moved. Why? I thought Potiac was the supermax so did he do something bad?

ReplyDeleteI was excited to uncover this web site. I wanted too thaqnk
ReplyDeleteyou for your time for this wonderful read!! I definitely
loved everyy part of it and i also have you book-marked to check out new things on your website.
That website calling for justice for Paul it ain’t a workin.
ReplyDeletePaul has a nice new mugshot. Good to see him with a smile.
ReplyDeleteDoes he still have Anthony for a room mate?
Admins: Please let me know if you need any assistance with getting content up on the new website. I'm a writer. I can show bylines. Don't have tons of spare time, but I'll help out wherever and whenever I can, if needed.
ReplyDeleteAlso, are you aware that there's tons and tons of spam comments on this blog now? If this continues, Google will eventually penalize Paul's blog by displaying it lower in the search results (as they do for all spammy sites, because their algorithms assume spam = low quality content). I'd hate for this blog to be shoved into the irrelevant wilderness. It won't help Paul's cause any. Call me idealistic, but I think the more attention he gets, the better his odds are of getting out.
Paul: Stay up. Don't lose hope. I know that doesn't mean anything to you anymore, but the internet/social media can move mountains, so becoming more active online will only help your cause. I know it's easy for me to say that; you've been in prison for literally as long as I've been alive. But I hope you won't give up on getting out, because it can work. The funny thing about facts is that they're true whether people believe them or not, and your release is hinged upon our collective ability to prove the fact of your innocence to the right people. That means you have to get their attention first. The internet is your out. Stay with it. You'd be surprised how many people are willing to help.
Send a message to the Facebook page.
DeletePaul would definitely benefit from atleast giving an occasional update. Ive been reading since the beginning and still check up on the blogs in hope he will atleast say hello and give an update. Im even more of a liberal person who disagrees with him in most categories but one I do agree is the dysfunctional legal system. He needs more awareness, since he stopped wroting interest has remained but hasnt grown. The more people who point out the failings of the system, especially from the inside, the better.
ReplyDeleteIm sure there is a plan already made that I am not privvy too, and the focus is on release of Paul, but even if hes never released this doesnt have to be a waste. Waking people up to corruption, is the only way to combat it. Going silent cause hes grumpy that hes still in prison is like a kid taking his ball and going home. His words hold weight, and he realizes that enough that it makes the extra effort worth it.
A new post is coming on the new website
DeleteThe website for Paul is very disappointing. To be useful all of the trial documents need to be uploaded.
ReplyDeleteWould you like to scan and upload all 36 boxes of discovery?
DeleteWhat good is a website without that kind of information displayed? Someone with a home canner could easily scan and upload half a box a night if they halfway cared about Paul. Otherwise the website is just a pit stop for people to stop by, hawk and move on to something else.
DeleteI too agree. There is a Facebook page called Justice for Paul Modrowski. Everyone needs to join it and add posts and comments, maybe we can all work together on bringing attention to his injustice.
